Investing in Oregon's Future: Cowen Partners Sponsors OMSI Gala in Portland | Portland Executive Recruiters Support the Community

Investing in Oregon’s Future: Cowen Partners Sponsors OMSI Gala in Portland

Cowen Partners Executive Search was proud to sponsor OMSI’s annual gala, celebrating science, education, innovation, and the next chapter of Oregon’s growth.

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) gala brings together Portland’s business, civic, and philanthropic leaders to support one of the region’s most impactful educational institutions. For Cowen Partners, the evening represented more than a networking opportunity—it was a chance to demonstrate our commitment to the Portland community and the future leaders who will shape Oregon’s trajectory.

As Portland-based executive recruiters, we see firsthand how Oregon’s growth depends on organizations that invest in the next generation. OMSI reaches hundreds of thousands of students, families, and educators each year, sparking curiosity and building the foundation for future innovation in STEM fields. Supporting that mission aligns directly with the work we do: identifying and placing the leadership that moves Oregon forward.

Cowen Partners Executive Search President and Co-founder Shawn Cole attended the gala alongside Jacob Gamble, who leads the firm’s family office executive search practice, Steward. Both emphasized that Oregon’s future will be built by leaders willing to invest in education, innovation, and the generation coming up behind them.

“Supporting OMSI is one way we put that belief into practice,” Shawn noted. “It’s a reflection of how we approach our work for clients across the region—finding leaders who don’t just drive results today but build the organizations and communities that will thrive tomorrow.”

Portland’s business community has a long tradition of civic engagement, and Cowen Partners is honored to be part of that tradition. From our downtown Portland office, we work with organizations across Oregon, helping them build executive teams that can navigate complexity and lead with vision.

Events like the OMSI gala remind us why we’re committed to this community. Oregon’s growth isn’t just about attracting talent from elsewhere—it’s about developing the leaders already here and creating the conditions for the next generation to succeed.

We’re grateful to OMSI for the work they do every day and proud to support their mission as they continue shaping Oregon’s future.

About the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI)

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading science education institutions, inspiring curiosity through engaging science learning experiences for people of all ages. Founded in 1944, OMSI serves over 900,000 visitors annually at its waterfront location in Portland and reaches an additional 300,000 students through traveling education programs across Oregon and the Northwest.

OMSI’s mission is to inspire curiosity through engaging science learning experiences, foster experimentation and the exchange of ideas, and stimulate informed action. The museum operates with the belief that collective potential is unlocked when curiosity, learning, and community unite—creating learning experiences that extend far beyond its walls.

As an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, OMSI receives no state or local tax support and relies on admissions, memberships, and donations to continue its educational mission. The museum offers year-round programming including hands-on exhibits, the Kendall Planetarium, the Empirical Theater, the USS Blueback submarine, day and overnight camps, outdoor school programs at Camp Gray (Newport) and Camp Hancock (Fossil), field trips, and educator professional development.

OMSI is deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and accessibility—working to dismantle systemic barriers and ensure that everyone, regardless of background, lifestyle, or income level, has access to quality STEM education. The organization’s values—Learning, Collaboration, Belonging, and Stewardship—guide its work to create a more equitable and scientifically literate community across Oregon and beyond.
