The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of marketing initiatives across a rapidly scaling, venture-backed security company. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CMO will work in concert with the broader leadership team to develop a successful marketing strategy utilizing market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, and public relations.
It will be imperative to create a compelling brand and messaging that can be distributed across multiple channels, media, and targeted audiences in order to meet the company objectives. He/she will oversee a team of enthusiastic marketing professionals and will direct our marketing efforts across core regions and sectors.

CMO Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership
Drive brand awareness and thought leadership across target market segments. Clearly and effectively articulate the value proposition to maintain and create market awareness.
Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, product promotion etc.)
Execute the Annual Marketing Strategy and plan, including go to market strategy, new product launches, demand generation, thought leadership, and programs.
CMO Responsibilities:Drive Growth
Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels.
Track ROI and establish measurable KPIs and milestones to continually evaluate performance against standards (i.e., ROI targets, customer acquisition rate, funnel conversion, etc.).
Maintain a detailed campaign roadmap, dashboarding mechanism, and processes to regularly track marketing performance and revenue contribution.
Assess, evaluate, and respond to industry trends with a solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods.
CMO Responsibilities: Lead & Build the Team
Lead a world-class marketing organization and promote a marketing culture that focuses on data and analytics to drive decision-making.
Structure, organize, train, motivate and develop staff to maximize their performance against assigned duties.
CMO Responsibilities: Desired Outcomes
Establish a robust demand generation program (i.e., email, display, SEM) as well as implement a lead nurturing and lead scoring strategy to drive customer acquisition.
Define and implement scalable marketing strategies to drive market expansion and increase revenue in the target market segment of $1B+ with SAP ERP and Oracle EBS companies.
Ensure the right mechanisms (i.e., marketing technology/systems, processes, etc.) are in place to successfully execute against marketing strategies – including marketing automation.
CMO Job Description: Experience & Skills
Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role within a rapidly growing enterprise software company. Cyber Security experience is a plus, but not necessary.
History of hiring, developing, motivating, and mentoring a marketing team capable of setting and meeting ambitious goals.
Familiarity with entrepreneurial or high growth environments
Understands how to scale and move quickly to support rapid growth. Experience leading by example as a player/coach.

Explains specifically how changes in competitors, clients, and market segments affect own business or institution.
Translates broad corporate strategies into clear, specific objectives and plans for units and individuals.
