The federal government’s growing involvement in private industry—whether through stakes in Intel, US Steel, or rare-earth miner MP Materials—may appear strategic. But as Jacob Gamble writes in his latest insight, history warns us otherwise.
When governments sit in corporate boardrooms, decisions shift from innovation and competition to politics and control. From post-war Britain to modern bailout mandates, the lesson is clear: state ownership dulls efficiency, undermines freedom, and risks steering markets away from prosperity.
Read Jacob Gamble’s full analysis on why protecting capitalism means protecting the system that built it—free markets, private ownership, and competition.
